It's important to realize that the state of grief is a mental/emotional condition that can completely take over our entire being. We feel it in what seems to be our endless uncontrollable thoughts and all throughout our body.
There is no time limit to grief. The idea that we can cry and ache for a few days or weeks and then get back to everyday life as usual is an uneducated notion. After the sudden loss of a loved one there is no such thing as 'life as usual'. In the grief healing process each of us find our own way in our own time to heal the wounds in our hearts and spirit.
