Where to Begin
On August 6, 2003, Brent and Karla Whelchel and their daughters Bridget and Lindsey
along with two of their friends, were on their way home to Phoenix from a family vacation
in California when they had an automobile accident on the Interstate.
Brent, Lindsey, and Bridget's best friend, Tawnee Hogan, died as a result of
this accident. Karla, Bridget, and Tawnee's family have been dealing with their
incredible loss ever since.
During this grieving period, Bridget and Karla decided
together that there is a lack of support services in the community to assist families
in dealing with sudden loss from automobile accidents. It is in memory and honor of
Brent, Lindsey, and Tawnee that they have created Safe Harbor Support Inc. to assist
others in dealing with the sudden loss of a loved one.
This section of our site contains useful information and resources you may need in
the event that you survive a tragedy like this. You are not alone. Safe Harbor provides workshops,
support groups and life coaching focused on managing and living with grief and loss.
We are always seeking ways to improve our services. Please contact us and share your thoughts.
